faith formation
Encountering Christ Through the Mass
At St. Barbara Catholic School, our students attend Mass three times each week as a central part of their spiritual and educational formation. This is a vital opportunity for students to actively participate in the life of the Church and grow in their personal relationship with Christ.
Regular participation in the Mass teaches our students reverence, reflection, and responsibility in a way that no textbook can. It forms their conscience, strengthens their Catholic values, and reinforces the importance of prayer, community, and service. Most importantly, it helps them see that faith is not just something they learn about, but it’s something they can live.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
In 2023, St. Barbara School adopted an additional faith program called “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.” Led by Sr. Catherine, all of our students in grades TK-5 spend 1 class a week in our new Atrium learning about our Catholic faith with hands-on experiences, activities, and prayer. God and the child have a unique relationship with one another, particularly before the age of six. The growth of this relationship is assisted by an adult but is directed by the Spirit of God within the child.
